Sail World Newsletter
Check out the latest issue of the Sail World Newsletter. There's a good range of racing articles and some very interesting updates on the America's Cup and lead up series - many changes with new multihull format (and why!):
For 160 years, the America’s Cup has been contested in monohulls. The introduction of multihulls is intended to transform the event into a spectator friendly competition while also heightening the action with yachts that can sail more that twice the speed of the wind.
'The switch to multihulls has left the slow boats in the past,' added Russell Coutts, CEO of ORACLE Racing. 'The new boats are just one element of a total transformation of the America’s Cup. The excitement is higher, racing more physical and challenging and rules simpler. Best of all, here in the Bay, the action is right in front of the public.'
And if you don't know who Russell Coutts is....well, he used to race monohulls.

Great Effort
Another big Thank You, to all those that turned out for the second work party. We got the docks launched and connected to land. Grounds clean up and trash in a central location, waiting for someone with a trailer to remove.
For those of you that have time this week, the trash needs to be removed.
The Dock bumper project started by Geoff needs to be continued, look at the dock nearest the hoist and continue on.
We didn't get to setup the tents and tables which can be done next Friday.
PLEASE NOTE: Hazard to navigation, the end of the lakeward dock arm is tied to bouy #128. The rope is just under the surface. This is a temporary measure and will be rectified ASAP.
Once again thanks.

Get on the Blog the Easy Way
Yo Sailors,
It's full on winter, complete with ice storms and freezing rain. What better time to learn a new skill?
You've seen the blog posts by others and thought, "I'd like to do that, but it's too much trouble, what with all that weird blogger stuff, etc.", "Takes too long.", "I'll do it later"....
Well now, you can post to the blog directly via email. You can even do it via smart phone email. That's how I did these (complete with photos):
The email address to post is provided separately.
The email subject line becomes the blog post title.
More Harken Highlights!!
Not to be outdone by Tom's Buc post below.... here's Harken's salute to the 505.
